Biography
Graduated from Alexandria University medical school in 1968.Received Master and Doctor of public health (majoring Microbiology) from Alexandria University High Institute of Public Health in 1973&1976 respectively. Then appointed as lecturer in Microbiology department in 1976, and as assistant professor (1981-1986). Since then, held the position of Professor, Chairperson and Professor Emeritus of Microbiology, High Institute of Public Health, Alexandria University
Activities’:
1.Teaching courses for post graduate students (Sanitary Bacteriology, Healthcare associated Infections, Standard Operating Procedures for Microbiology, Problem Orientated Microbiology and Quality Assurance in Bacteriology & Immunology Laboratory).
2. Supervising Master and Doctorate Theses Submitted to Alexandria University.
3. Participation in research projects (Pollution of Alexandria beaches, Pollution of River Nile at Kafr El-Zayat Segment, Meningococcal carriage among school children in urban and rural areas, and Diarrheal diseases of children in Nile Delta Villages).
6. Serving as WHO consultant in the field of laboratory and epidemiology study of meningococcal meningitis in OMAN.
7 .A member of Scientific Committee for evaluation of researches.
8. Participation in conferences(local &international).
9. Participation in the Regional Workshop in Educational Planning and Management at Shiraz.
10. Participation in medical education workshops at the HIPH in collaboration with WHO
